Fertility Concerns & Miscarriage

Reassurance, Answers, and Support

From Conception to the First Trimester

The early stages of pregnancy — and the journey to get there — can be filled with questions, hope, and sometimes uncertainty. Whether you’re trying to conceive or have recently had a positive pregnancy test, Dr. Affie Tourani offers gentle, expert care to help guide you through this important time.

Fertility Concerns and Pre-Conception Advice

If you’ve been trying to fall pregnant without success or have irregular cycles, Dr. Tourani can help assess your fertility and explore options.
She will:

  • Take a thorough reproductive and medical history

  • Perform targeted investigations (e.g. hormone levels, ovulation tracking, pelvic ultrasound)

  • Provide personalised advice about ovulation timing and lifestyle

  • Offer guidance on next steps, including referral for assisted conception if needed (e.g. IVF, IUI)

Dr. Tourani works closely with fertility specialists when appropriate and helps coordinate a clear and supportive care pathway.

Early Pregnancy Support

A positive pregnancy test can bring joy — but also questions, especially in the first 12 weeks. Dr. Tourani provides early pregnancy care to confirm your pregnancy and ensure everything is progressing well.

  • Early pregnancy visits include:

  • Dating ultrasound to confirm gestational age and viability

  • Blood tests for hormone levels, iron, blood group, and more

  • Screening for genetic conditions (NIPT, combined first trimester screening)

  • Management of morning sickness, cramping, spotting, or other concerns

  • Emotional support for pregnancy after miscarriage or fertility treatment

Concerns After Miscarriage or Loss

If you’ve had a previous miscarriage or early pregnancy loss, it’s natural to feel anxious. Dr. Tourani offers compassionate follow-up care and investigations to understand what happened and support you as you try again. In future pregnancies, she provides close monitoring and reassurance through the early weeks.
